We offer part-time quilting classes on weekends for beginners.  Contact Allyson 

Financial Awareness Training and tutorials

We are planning courses in financial awareness covering basic skills such as:

How to draw up a Will and Testament;

The need of a Trust Fund and how to create such a fund;

Basic understanding of how shares, unit trusts and dividends work;

The need for Electronic Banking, along with Internet, e-commerce, virus protection and fraud protection and how to use these services;

How to invest money and where;

Teaching school children on the value of a savings account;

Cell-phone banking;

Basic financial awareness;

Budgeting;

Retirement;

You and your bank;

Managing debt;

Office administration;

Telephone skills.

Our hope is to integrate this as a program for low-income earners once our community development center is established. Along with earning from marketing their hand-made articles, they will follow the courses and progress to working in the center until they have obtained the necessary skills to work in a small business. We will then advertise their skills obtained. Initially they will not be self-sufficient and a period of hand-holding will need to take place until their graduation. Unfortunately we require funding to proceed.
